I'll probably give level 550 a couple tries. This piece is part of the series “All About China”-a journey into the history and diverse culture of China through short articles that shed light on the lasting imprint of China’s past encounters with the Islamic world as well as an exploration of the increasingly vibrant and complex dynamics of contemporary Sino-Middle Eastern relations. I haven't played at level 550 yet, and I'm not sure when I'll spend my upgrade funds. Even though I send them back to the start, it gets expensive paying $3 to reset the defense for each one. When I built concurrently, too many ground and air attacks overwhelm me. Then I spend 90% of my funds on anti-air for the next 30-40 levels. I used a couple Teleport defenses for both aircraft and ground, and by level 40 probably 20 aircraft get through. I found it more effective to just build ground defenses, and build no anti-air until about game level 40, or so. Normally, I built ground and air defenses concurrently. It took me about 5 tries to win at Level 540, but earned $24 million when I did win. But would win any game that I paid good attention to game play. By level 500 I was losing 10-20 lives, but earning over $20 million/game. At level 360 I was earning $15-$17 million each game. This time after winning, I moved up 10 levels each time. Then I decided to see how far I could go, keep my main upgrades at 42 and starting health at 65. I would have a perfect game about 25% of the time, but usually lost 3-8 lives-mostly because I wasn't paying attention or was in fast mode. Then I spent all my upgrade funds and just defeated one difficulty level at a time, and got up to level 360. I was at level 17 for most upgrades when I completed the 57 achievements. First, I got all my achievements with minimal upgrades.
